Well, I'm a total beginner, but it was worth it! The price is a bit high, but the lighting and the touchscreen make it somehow easier. I hope, I just hope, that Donner will support this great drum set for years to come, for example with updates and improvements, maybe new samples or kits or something. Otherwise, great! I'm just totally satisfied

This kit has been a game changer! I use it primarily in my studio for recording and practice.
I save loads of time by keeping this kit set up and not having to load/unload my main kit before and after gigs. Having it set up takes up a lot less space than a regular kit and the different kits are a lot of fun. I highly recommend keeping a notebook and recording which kits you like best and which drums in particular you like so you can program your own custom kit.
One common complaint is that you really need to adjust the levels on each individual channel to get it to sound natural. You will sometimes hit a Tom or cymbal and it’s exponentially louder than the rest of the kit. This is quite easy to do with the giant touchscreen interface module. Very easy and intuitive to use. Just remember to screw it into the mount or it could fall off. I haven’t used the app with it just yet.
I would rate the overall trigger responses to be 4 out of 5. Rimshots can get cancelled out by pad hits and vice versa. The hi-hat sounds good overall, but gets cut up and sounds very digital when doing fast, intricate sticking and pedal manipulation. The snare sounds is good and you can get some really nice sounding drumrolls and paradiddles out of it.
The lights are pretty cool and definitely add an ambiance and excitement to your playing. Really fun to play in a dark room. However, I seem to have a small glitch on one of the Toms. The light is very sporadic and will often only be 1/4 to 3/4 on. It changes with hits but does not match the look of the rest of the lights and can become distracting. (I have not reached out to Donner or researched if there’s a simple fix, yet) I will try the app and see if I can change it in there.
The kick pad is kind of disappointing. There is about a 2 inch sweet spot, right in the middle. For those of us that use double kick pedals, it’s pretty much impossible to get your beaters that close. Therefore, I have to slightly offset them so they hit the trigger. My right kick sound isn’t exactly “full” as it’s not dead center, but it’s much louder than my left pedal which barely seems to touch the trigger. I’m actually considering ditching the double pedal and just using the single.
I highly, highly recommend a good drum monitor and subwoofer in order to really hear the kit. Also, invest in some good in ear monitors. The direct sound of the drum kits really sound alive and realistic in a good set of in ears.
The frame and built in plug-ins make set up a breeze. The frame is study and you can really wail on it.
Overall, I’m extremely happy and my opinion is high for this e-kit. There are better, much more expensive kits out there, but there are also WAY WORSE than this. The module is amazing and easy and the sounds are top notch. If you are just grooving and not doing anything insanely technical or fast, this kit is perfect. I can play late into the evening with my ears in and my wife can sleep soundly in the same house. Win, win.
Thanks Donner!

Thanks! It’s GREAT!!!

Full disclosure, this is only my second e-drum kit and the first kit was also Donner (DED-200). I have played acoustic drums off and on for 45 years, however.
This kit is quite different from the DED-200. There are more factory kits included but many of them sound similar to each other. However, the module touch screen and interface make it very easy to tune and customize them to taste or create custom kits.
The frame and cymbal posts are all metal and is very solid.
The RGB is customizable per drum and per kit. The inputs for RGB on the drums and cymbals are separate from the signal inputs so other brands of e-drums and cymbals can be used if you want.
The module has standard midi out as well USB midi in/out. I haven't explored the midi functions yet but it looks like everything you need is there. Same with other inputs and outputs. Minimal but everything that's needed to interface with various other devices.
There's a micro sd slot on the back that you can record and save to either as wav files or midi files. or use it to import wav and midi files.
I've only had the kit a couple of weeks and I'm still exploring all the features but so far, as an e-drum newbie, I'm very impressed. Though I bought the kit mainly for practicing, I can see using this in a live performance in smaller venues where my acoustic drums are just too loud.
Well worth the price IMO!

The kit sounds great but you need to put timecasside to set each sound up .
My main problem is one tom pad does not work right out of the box so i have been promised a replacement within 30 days let's see otherwise I would buy again

I really like the cable clean up and the availability of COLOR! and even LED lights. At last - edrum kits with a little pizzaz!!! - along with the expected "mandatory" features imo like mesh heads, sensitivity, etc.
