Donner DDP-400 Professional Digital Piano

I like the design , this piano look cool . The aux in and aux out is very important , Bluetooth audio connectivity is good options but why this piano d'ont have midi via Bluetooth ? Midi in and out classical on the board is good , also midi via usb . About the sound : 2 outs for headphones it's ok , but the sound via incorporated speakers is not really the best , 15W for each channel is not enough , for me minimum should be at least 50W RMS for each channel , also the deep bass is poor , also the highest frequency (4khz up to 20kz) is very inadéquates . And more important is the polyphony should be at least 256 for this price . General rating for me is 4 from 5 stars .

Very happy and satisfied with our order. The piano sounds really good. My daughter said it feels and sounds like the grand piano she played during their recital. It was very well packaged. I bought the DDP-400 about a month ago and it does feel like you're playing a "real" piano. I got the glossy black and it looks really classy and is easy to set up. After it was delivered I had mine up and playing within 30 minutes. The sound quality is great. My favorite thing is when I play using my headphones. The external sound is substantial and sounds great at full blast or a low volume. The sound doesn't deteriorate when you increase the volume. Not to mention, the sound quality through the headphones is exceptional. I have Yamaha brand headphones and haven't tried the one that it came with but it. It easily connects through Bluetooth and the Midi cable to my iPad and works great with GarageBand (a free app that comes with iPads and iPhones) so I can record myself. I find the control buttons on the left counter intuitive. It's easy to just turn it on and start playing. But I have to read the owners manual every time I want to play with rhythm or metronome. I just started using an app on my iPad and just use it for the piano but it would be nice to have a better interface. Last thing is I can't figure out how to download the app. The directions in the owners manual lead to a dead end. I found other donner apps but none of them are relevant to the DDP-400. Overall I think it's a good piano. It's strong points are the feel of the keys, the cosmetic appeal, sound quality, high quality headphone configuration, MIDI and Bluetooth easily connect. I've played it everyday since I received it and I don't regret it. There are some areas that could be improved, especially with the control function panel. The lack of an app similar to the Yamaha digital piano app is a downside but it gives you multiple ways to connect the piano to your devices. I just use apps to play backing tracks and rhythms so I don't really miss out on anything

As you can see in the photo, the piano looks beautiful. I have the perfect place for it in my condo. I am a very beginner so to me it sounds like an acoustic piano. I am not worried about bothering my neighbours since it’s a digital and I use the earphones. I spend a lot of time learning about all the bells and whistles that comes with it. The only negative point is the instructions book does not really explain how to use. I woul like to use the automatic chords since I am a beginner, unfortunately it does not work.

For a digital piano at this price, very impressive. After trying many pianos at all price points, the Donner DDP400 easily met all my requirements at a fraction of the price. Here are my pros and cons, focusing on the piano features. PROS: - Super fast delivery - Classic elegant design - Gorgeous piano sounds, particularly bass and high treble - Very satisfied with the room settings and reverb strength to achieve a more resonant sound CONS - Manual is very brief and not terribly thorough. Still figuring out how to successfully implement some features e.g. record - Support is poor and videos online are pretty non-existent - Una corda pedal has no half-pedalling so it's either on or off. No subtlety, so essentially of no use - The middle register is a bit too digital sounding, and the overall sound is very clean, so that early classical compositions sound great. Works by later composers like Debussy I find more of a challenge. - Considering the elegance of the design, they could easily have hidden the wires connecting the keyboard and bass section. That's a bit amateurish. But overall a very solid purchase.

I'm a level 2 RCM student. I purchased the DDP-400 to replace a 61-key keyboard which had outgrown its usefulness as an instrument to learn on. The hard copy version of the manual was missing a leaf of paper, so it was missing pages 1, 2, 16 and 17. Oops! - pages 1 and 2 contain the assembly instructions. After I determined the problem, I download a soft copy. Being a beginner student, it's not possible to provide a meaningful technical review. With that caveat, I will say the weighted action feels good - about midway int he range between the heaviest and lightest actions on the real pianos I have played. The G3 key seems abnormally loud, I don't know if that is me or the piano. Overall, a good product.

I hesitated a lot before buying, but I'm not sorry I did! I'm very satisfied.

The perfect Christmas gift for my wife

I had been googling piano for the few months, finally I decided go on Donner DDP-400, but with some worried about quality. During delivery time, UPS scheduled the delivery window time between 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Friday, Dec 13, 2024, we were waiting at home, unfortunately we didn't receive the piano. I called UPS customer services. After the customer rep checked their system and told me that the package was lost, we were panic and immediately contacted Donner Music through the website. It was at weekend, Donner Music didn't response to us for the two days. My husband started to suspect if Donner music is a real company? We were worrided that we might be scammed. After 3 days, we received this piano. It was raining. The package was dropped on our driveway and had some damaged. However, we checked and found that the inside box was good. In fact, the piano is well packaged. So far, we love this piano very much -- the sound, the appearance, and the hight quality..., so many good points we love. My husband and I both think that this is excellent investment and much worth than other famous brand name pianos with the same grade level. We definitely give 5 stars and recommend this piano to friends. Thanks to Donner Music.

I wish the keys were a little heavier. Loved the overall design and the headphones worked fine. It arrived well packed without any cracks and delivered 3 days after ordering.

It sounds just like a real piano. Instructions for assembly are horrible! So beware! I plugged in the earphones ....they dont work. We bought it because of all of the extra features. Would be better if the controller was more digitalized so if you wanted to try a new sound you didnt have to push the + button countless times to find the sound you like. So for us we wanted something with full keyboard but still the features of some of the smaller keyboards. This has those features but they are so hidden and hard to use I think you end up just using the piano and forgetting about the rest.

The sound of a piano in the Donner is not as accurate as in a real grand piano,

The sound is amazing, the weighted keys feel just like a regular upright piano, only problem I had with mine was that the headphone jacks did not work. However, after contacting customer service the problem was resolved. I highly recommend it.

I really like the looks , the action of this piano . Being on a fixed income I really shopped around and found this piano dollar for dollar the best value out there . Competition is good for everyone and competing companies will have to pull up their socks to match this one .

Got the ddp 400 about two weeks ago. I'm a begginer, never played before, but so far I'm in love with it. I wanted a digital piano that was close to a real piano and based on reviews this piano is great for that with the weighted keys. Highly recommend for beginners

The Donner DDP-400 Digital Piano is an amazing instrument! Particularly the weighted keys...as close to an acoustic piano ( which I have) as I imagine can be achieved. My son and daughter, both 13 years of age and beginner piano students, are in love with it.

The piano looks and feels good, being a beginner it sounds good to me. Putting it together was easy and not complicated at all. I took away one star because of packaging. The box came all beat up with extra tape keeping it together. Corners were crush and flopping open. The piano took 11 days to get here and now this. I unpacked slowly and almost every piece of Styrofoam was crush and in pieces. Thankfully there was minimal damage, a corner was chipped off and other small scratches that are not visible. Need to pay a little more to your China connection to get better packaging for this 140lb box. Also I'm almost sure it left your warehouse in this condition before USP made it worst. I still would recommend this piano and happy with my purchase.

Since I was unfamiliar with the Donner name, I wasn't sure what to expect. Questions by email were answered promptly which I found reassuring. Very pleasantly surprised with how soon the piano arrived. First grand piano I've ever moved to the second floor by myself that didn't need some tuning after doing so. It was simple to move and assemble. Sounds delightful to hear my grandchildren practice on it. Considering some lessons for myself. I'm hoping that it will give me many years of service. I think that this instrument can easily be compared with any similar Yamaha or Roland, not to mention, at more favourable price point!

the piano itself is gorgeous. It is beautiful, very aesthetically pleasing, and there is not 1 imperfection on any surfaces. I like the sliding cover- it keeps the keys clean and protected. It is also quite slim and doesn¡¯t take too much space. The sound quality is perfectly beautiful and unlike any other keyboard we have heard/had/practiced on. My son is progressing faster because he knows this is a much higher quality keyboard than our old one. This has to be comparable in quality to the best available on the market.

This beautiful piano is a nice upgrade for my son, who takes piano classes. It came well packaged and everything inside was in pristine condition. They keys are aligned perfectly and they feel incredibly realistic. The assembly process was not easy, took our dad quite a while, especially given the fact how heavy it is. You definitely need help with moving it, because it is very heavy.

We enjoy and love playing this piano more and more every day now, it feels great, sounds great, and looks great! We just wish that the construction would be sturdier.

The weight of the keys feels great and natural to us. The sound! For now, we only use the acoustic grand piano and the bright acoustic piano. We don't think the sound will change but my wife thinks it sounds muffled at first, but after playing every day for at least one month, she feels the sound is actually clear and wonderful! Or maybe she just grew into it and loves the sound now.

We ordered this piano for our children to learn and play, we are no experts so here are just our experiences with this piano. It was raining the day it was delivered and the box had a hole but inside seems well packed and well protected. Nothing was damaged.

The Donner 88 Key Piano Weighted Keyboard, premium upright Keyboard Piano for Beginner is a nice piece. It was very well packed when arrived. There is no damage during delivery and no blemishes on it. I have 2 kids playing violin for years and they are ready to learn another instrument for fun. I didn’t want a cheap keyboard or a full size piano. The piano is pretty lightweight and only took me 45 minutes to put together. We’ve been playing over a month and have no problem so far. This piano is good and at this price, it has several awesome features. I love the weighted keys and the sound quality overall is great. It has a variety of functions, such as 128 voice polyphony, 138 tones（includes 128 musical instruments sound and 10 drum voice tones), 100 rhythm styles, 20 demo songs, 100 etudes, chorus, mixing effects, timbre, rhythm storage banks, intro/ outro accompaniment, A/B interludes selection. With IOS, Android, and USB MIDI connection with computer. It gives you the ability to learn lessons through APP and making demo recordings and music arrangement. The sound quality is good, and is excellent for beginner and intermediate players. Keys are weighted, but a little stiffer than real pianos I've played. It is not terrible to get used to. The pedals feel almost same as real piano.

I just can't say enough about this digital piano! I knew it would be nice, as it's a Donner, and they have proven themselves to my family to be wonderful and affordable quality. We own four or five other products from them and all are five star items! Since we have a friend that is an accomplished musician and owns a music store, I feel confident in saying that Donner is really becoming a real contender in the music industry. All the Donner instruments we have gotten have impressed him. It's hard to even know where to start with this piano. First, it's gorgeous! It would look just beautiful in any space, with the classic black that is a combination of matte and gloss in appropriate places. The keys are spaced and feel just like a high end concert piano. All the digital additions of demo songs and instrument sounds are just the icing on the cake. It's just a pleasure to play! The sound is just beautiful. However, if does have headphones to keep all that beautiful music to your own ears, if the rest of your household is not participating. Assembly was very easy, although I was quite nervous at first, as it didn't come with step by step instructions. It did have an illustration as to how it all went together. I found that laying the main body on it's back, on the floor, then attaching the sides, then the foot pedal base, worked best. Then with two of us moving it upright, we screwed on the backing last. I'm really excited to watch my grandchildren learn to play on this gorgeous piano. They are excited about all the extras and it really has their interest! Just a perfect mix of modern and traditional for children to learn on!

Gorgeous full-size piano. Very high quality for a digital piano. Fantastic sound. Outstanding key feel. Has all the keys. Qualitatively just so much better than our old piano. I like that it has the built-in key cover. I like that the music stand is so large. But most of all I love how much it feels like a “real” piano. You do have to assemble it. Be aware that the box weighs over 100 pounds and is extremely cumbersome. Also, most of the weight will be in the main piece, meaning you need to have one or two people around to assist who can lift up that much weight. We separately ordered a Donner piano bench, which I can also highly recommend.

It just feels so much better to actually sit down in front of a "real" piano, uncover the keys, and start making music. I also love the built in music stand and the fact that this piano is large enough that you can actually set things on it, so it really is functional in more ways than one. The appearance is quite elegant, it's very heavy, and the wood has a nice natural grain to it. The "progressive hammer action" keys are really nice, they feel just like the real thing to me. Much better than my previous piano that just had weighted keys. The hammer action is a big improvement in touch and sensitivity in my opinion. The sound is excellent. The traditional piano sounds are very natural, much less "digital" sound than my previous electric keyboard, and it really inspires me to just sit down and play. The volume and projection are great as well, the sound really envelopes you, and it sounds quite big. I also really enjoy the huge range of musical instruments to mess around with (128 instruments). I am not a classically trained musician, but I really love being able to sit down and improvise with a wide range of sounds.

This piano exceeds my expectations. I highly recommend buying this product. However, I don't use any of the fancy technical stuff. This is only a piano for me to practice on and I haven't even listened to the domo tracks. It sounds wonderful and is a delight to the fingers. I think I enjoy this more than I would a real piano. Really, it is just that good.

Cons: Assembling this piano is not easy. It took me 3+ hours (without any help). The intructions & manual was not helpful. I am not an expert and so far this is the hardest assembling I have ever done. That is why I decided to make an unb0xng & assembling video. It's not top notch video but I am hoping it helps. And also this piano does not comes with a bench. I have to purchased it separately. Pros: I have this piano for almost a month now and I play on it everyday and I truly think it's beautiful and sounds great. I'm still a beginner, so I don't have a lot of experience so I cannot be technical on my review but, my husband said this piano sound a lot better than my old unweighted keyboard. I definitely agree with that. I love the style & color of this piano, it looks lovely & really suit our home well. The size is perfect for my foyer. The sliding keyboard cover is solid and smoothly slides to open and close. The page holder is solid and large, with brackets to keep the page in its place. I can also fold it down when not in use. You do have to set it up against a wall though, because the back of the piano has a thin piece of wood and screws go in there, etc. But nobody sees that if you place it against a wall. The keys are sensitive and weighted. The keys even have a synthetic ebony and ivory feel. It makes it significantly easier to keep my fingers from slipping off of the keys while playing. A really nice touch that my old keyboards never had. The different voice polyphony & tones are fun to have, although I don't think I can use it all & the other many cool features. It also has a bluetooth connectivity that I can connect to my phone & computer. There are ports for the headphone jack at the left side and underneath with a hook to hold when not in use. However I did not attach it because I am not gonna be using a headphone. But nice to know that this ​has headphone included. I was so excited when I first saw this on Amazon Vine. I wanted a keyboard that have the weighted keys, three pedals, and sounded like a real piano. I'd been wanting to have a piano for quite sometimes. I am glad I finally own one. However the first piano I got, arrived with damage. It has been scratched, big bend at the front & it don't sound right. I contacted the seller & they send me another one. Customer service team did a great job helping me through of the process. Overall, this is a great digital piano for beginners. I haven't discovered everything of it yet but, I am happy to have it. It is beautiful & compact. Perfect for small spaces & great addition for your home decor. I highly recommend Donner DDP-400 digital piano.

This is an absolutely stunning electric piano, the look and feel are more like a real piano - and a very high quality one at that! My Mom was a church organist and we always had an upright piano in the house. I wanted the same experience for my kids, but buying and moving a real piano just wasn't in the cards (not to mention the required annual maintenance - professional tuning, etc). Enter the Donner 88-key digital piano! This is no ordinary electric piano - the action and quality of the keys mimic that of a grand piano! The finish is that of a high quality piece of wood furniture and the sound quality is absolutely stunning! It sounds so much like a real piano, I honestly forgot I was playing an electric! 5-melodic-stars!

This piano is amazing. It has over 135 different key sounds and percussion. We have another lighter weight piano that we started my son on and it isn’t close. He loved the first one. This one has really solid weighted keys that feel very much like a real piano. This piano is a bit bigger but is better in every way. It has a retractable key cover, Bluetooth onboard, comes with a wired headset and holder under the keyboard, and has nice size powerful speakers that can fill a room with sound. Plus, it just looks good with polished accents throughout. The pedals are also very functional. The base has gliders of some sort that make moving this heavy (over 100lbs) piano easy. Donner has just really thought of everything here. If you are looking for a fairly priced piano to get started, this is an easy recommendation. Even experienced players will enjoy this. Also, there is a Donner app and this piano includes free online lessons with it. Nice touch. Buy with complete confidence.

My sis didn’t understand how I kept saying this is “digital”. It sounds just like the One we had growing up. Sett it up was a bit frustrating at first until we took a step back and reassessed what we were reading. They sort of explain it oddly. My husband and I were able to get it set up and it’s only a few peices to get it together. It’s a nice size and I’m still impressed with the sound clarity and how well it sounds. I like this item and I would recommend it. It’s also compact in size and I am thrilled with it!

Donner seems to set the bar higher with every product I encounter of theirs. It seems like a company by musicians for musicians. Each product is feature filled, cost friendly and never sacrifices quality. Easy to install. The piano comes with 4 pieces for the stand and a 1 piece fully assembled upper keyboard. You have 2 side pieces, 1 backing and 1 foot pedal. Line them up and bolt and screw them in. Put the stand upright, then attach the keyboard. The keyboard is attached via twist knob screws that help make it easy to detach and maneuver. I think this is such a bonus feature if you want to quickly detach and travel with the keyboard only, but for me it is not as portable as their other electronic pianos. The build itself is sturdy, with excellent quality wood, seamless construction and a sleek, high-end, premium look, but let's be real, you didn't get this just as a decorative piece in your home, you got this to play or learn how to play. You get the best of both worlds with this keyboard. You get your standard old school grand piano feel, but jam packed and feature filled with all the tech of today. The feel of the keyboard is similar to professional ones you find at hotels, bars, restaurants, churches, etc where you just happened to walk over when no one was looking and snuck a few keys to play. The keys are weighted, it is a welcomed improvement over standard, flimsy, lightweight electronic keyboards. This is a pro-style looking and playing piano that is compact, but still big on sound. There are a number of your typical digital options in regards to beats, different musical sounds, plug in headsets and volume control. You may forget it is an electronic keyboard by how it looks, but it has everything an electronic keyboard offers, but delivers at a much better feel and quality of sound. If you can't tell by now, I am blown away by this keyboard from the sound to the looks to the construction. Excellent all around.

I had no business trying to assemble this on my own (but I'd start such a business if there was enough money in it, I suppose ...). Aside from accessories, It comes in 5 major pieces with 10 screws, so it's really not all that bad. The instructions themselves are screwy, in that that they are wrong about the screws. They imagine the back panel has 4 brackets and 4 screws, but there are only two brackets and two screws. And they tell you to put the ling fat screws where the long skinny screws go, and the long skinny screws where the long fat screws should go - like trying to fit a very round peg into a smaller round hole. But you'll figure this out quickly enough when you see that the screws are obviously wrong. Since there aren't many screws to confuse, this really isn't a major liability. The assembly guide is really just a diagram with pieces and arrows and some of the arrows from the screws to the predrilled holes are wrong. That's all. Blame the artist, not the engineer. Anyway, I got it assembled in about 30 minutes - not bad - and I don't think I threw out my back or anything lifting the heavy top piece onto the support structure, though it really was stupid of me to have done that, especially since I was also barefoot. But I was lucky. Anyway, overall, a win. It sounds fantastic - like a real piano, not an electronic one - and it's a definite upgrade from our previous unit. My picture is mostly just to show you generally what it looks like assembled and to prove that I did, in fact, get it together - but I didn't remove all the protective plastic film yet, so it's not as shiny and clean looking as it is when the plastic is all removed. 5 stars because it sounds great (I already played a few tunes on it even though I hadn't removed all the plastic). My father died last year and I played his favorite song first to initiate this thing into our home. Miss you, Dad. Anyway, it looks good, and takes up almost no room. Also, delivery box was perfect and it was well packed, and used only a moderate amount of styrofoam (i.e. I could fit it into my regular trash bin along with my weekly trash). It does not come with a bench, but I prefer that because I think piano benches are generally unstable and uncomfortable, and your darling angelic kids, should you have some, start pushing each other when they sit together on a single bench. The two stools in the picture are my own. Overall definitely a big thumbs up from me.
